Ikoi I
Ami represents an avant-garde rug collection born from the creative minds of Hong Kong architects and interior designers Ed Ng and Terence Ngan, co-founders of AB Concept. Designed with a focus on comfort, Ami encapsulates heritage and landscape inspiration, intertwining wool and traditional knitting patterns reminiscent of Ed's grandmother.
Through experimentation with diverse needlepoint accent techniques that mimic the art of knitting, Ami celebrates the artistry of handcrafted rugs that embody a unique blend of elegance, comfort, and innovation.
Ikoi embodies the essence of repose and restfulness, meticulously exploring the geometry of knitting through hand-tufting and distinctive finishing techniques, including needlepoint, carving, and bevelling. The result is a sculptural woven tapestry that exudes warmth and artistic sophistication.
The name Ami is woven from warmth and love, reminiscent of hands crafting a delicate knit. In Japanese, Ami means "weave," derived from the term Amimono (編み物), embodying the essence of creation through patience and passion.

Ed Ng & Terence Ngan
Renowned for their sensual, multi-layered style, architectural use of space and meticulous detailing, Ed Ng and Terence Ngan draw on a wide range of cultural influences to create exceptional, narrative driven interiors for some of the most beautiful hotels, restaurants, clubs and private homes in the world. For its capsule of four couture carpets, Ed and Terence – so fond of storytelling – have found their inspiration from above, looking at the world from the sky. It was only natural to name the set of designs Nephele, after the Greek nymph born from a cloud and Zeus.
