City Reflexion II
André Fu’s second collaboration for Tai Ping pays poetic homage to the quintessential international urban landscape, with its modern architecture and shadows, and the subtle reflective qualities of water expressed through 13 distinctive cinematographic carpet designs.
Using highly complex, sensual textures hand-in-hand with an intricate combination of fibres from wool, silk and cashmere to linen, steele and glosilk, Fu’s designs reflect his own flâneur-like experience of the architecture of cities through a dream-like, pixelated, and abstract expression of intriguing urban silhouettes.

For the past decade and a half, Fu’s vision has been defined by a seamless alignment of cultural and design sensibilities, modern luxury, art and craftsmanship – the themes explored in this book. A trained architect, his projects span scales and typologies, continuously bridging the gap between cultures, and drawing as naturally on European principles of beauty as from Oriental qualities, traditions and modernity. His seemingly effortless creations range from an original furniture creation for Louis Vuitton’s exclusive Objets Nomades collection, contemporary art galleries in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Shanghai for international gallerists including Emmanuel Perrotin, and major hotels and restaurants around the world including Villa La Coste in Provence, The Berkeley London and Hong Kong’s St. Regis Hotel, Hotel The Mitsui in Kyoto and The Upper House in Hong Kong.
